Hunger Action Month | 2024
Give food. Give love. Give now.
September is Hunger Action Month and Feeding America is encouraging one million actions across the country to end hunger. During the month-long campaign, the St. Louis Area Foodbank will be raising awareness and inspiring action in our community.
Ways to Get Involved
There are many ways to get involved and make a difference during Hunger Action Month!
DONATE FUNDS
Providing more than 47 million pounds of food each year is simply not possible without the generosity of our donors. Consider a tax-deductible financial gift to join the movement to end hunger.
To make a donation, visit bit.ly/FoodbankHAM24.
You can also DOUBLE your gift on September 10 during our annual ‘Hunger Action Day’ sponsored by BMO. Donations will be matched up to $25,000. Click the button below to donate.
SUPPORT A FOOD DRIVE
Throughout September, drop off donations of non-perishable food items at any St. Louis area Simmons Bank location to support the St. Louis Area Foodbank.
Consider hosting a virtual food drive and encourage your friends, family and coworkers to participate. This simple collection of funds allows the St. Louis Area Foodbank to utilize their buying power to purchase food with funds donated to your drive. Or perhaps a physical food drive where you collect food and personal care items is more up your alley.
GO ORANGE ON HUNGER ACTION DAY SEPT. 10
GO ORANGE to show your support for those that are food insecure in our community! Wear your favorite orange shirt and get your friends to join you. Take a pic and share it on social media. Be sure to tag @stlfoodbank and #HungerActionMonth.
ROUND UP FOR CHANGE
Throughout September, visit a St. Louis area Fresh Thyme Market and round up the total of your purchase at the register to support programs at the St. Louis Area Foodbank.
DONATE YOUR TIME
Roll up your sleeves and dive in to support your community. Volunteers are the lifeblood of our work! We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available for individuals, families, and groups. Consider packing food boxes in our Repackaging Center, or any of the other options available by clicking the button below.
BE AN ADVOCATE
Throughout September we will be sharing information to educate the public about the food insecurity and the work of the St. Louis Area Foodbank. Follow us (@stlfoodbank) on social media, and share the information with your networks.
