Senior Assistance
As the USDA’s agency of choice for our region, the St. Louis Area Foodbank packs and distributes more than 5,000 senior food boxes each month. These boxes are sent to our more than 600 network partners throughout the 26 counties we serve to support seniors in need.

Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) boxes contain nutrient-rich foods provided by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). These foods provide vitamins A and C, calcium, and iron, which are essential nutrients that are often lacking in the diets of low-income seniors.
The boxes are delivered to local agencies or senior citizen housing, where seniors who meet income guidelines can pick them up each month. This program prevents many area seniors from having to choose between paying for food or other necessities, such as medicine or utilities.

To file a program discrimination complaint, a Complainant should complete a Form AD-3027, USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, which can be obtained online by clicking here or from any USDA office, by calling (866) 632-9992, or by writing a letter addressed to USDA. The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
