It is fair to say that 2020 made its mark on how we get our work done. We know that we can get a lot done virtually. We also recognize that nothing sparks collaboration and innovation quite like being together in person. So, whether your organization has gone fully remote, hybrid, or returned to 100% in person, you will be hosting and attending retreats, workshops, trainings, and new employee orientations at some point. Overlooking our dynamic Volunteer Center and Warehouse, the St. Louis Area Foodbank’s Hunger Engagement Center (HEC) is a multi-functional and flexible space designed to accommodate groups of 15 to 180. This fully equipped space is the perfect setting for hosting board meetings, seminars, and corporate retreats. The HEC is also available for private events.


Already scheduled for a volunteer shift? We are more than happy to work with you to plan a custom program for after your volunteer session so that your group members get the most out of their visit. We are here to make your team’s next outing a success!

How many people can the HEC accommodate?

Is the HEC accessible?

The HEC is located on the 2nd floor and is accessible by elevator.

The HEC includes an accessible water fountain as well as bathroom facilities.

How many cars can your parking accommodate?

Front Administrative Lot – 4 accessible spaces
Volunteer Lot – 80 spaces
Back Lot – 80 spaces

Is the HEC Audio / Visually equipped?

Each room / quadrant comes equipped with a ceiling-mounted projector and mechanized screen for presentations. Laptops (PC; Windows 7) are available for loading presentation materials.

Larger room reservations may make use of more than one screen. Large room presentations may be facilitated through the podium laptop installed on stage. Wireless remotes, wireless microphones, and the podium microphone are also available.

All external audio / visual requirements and materials should be submitted (via email or flash drive) in advance to ensure the files and equipment are in working order.
