St. Louis Area Foodbank’s Code of Conduct
At the St. Louis area, we expect our partner agencies to observe the same guidelines as the St. Louis Area Foodbank.
- We do not engage in discrimination in the provision of service against any person because of race, color, citizenship, religion, gender, national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, disability, sexual orientation including gender identity or expression, unfavorable discharge from military or status as a protected veteran.
The St. Louis Area Foodbank (SLAFB) and its Partner Agencies will build around the recognition that everything done in connection with our work will be and should be measured against the highest possible standards:
- Work alongside the SLAFB to create an atmosphere of mutual respect that promotes partnership, kindness, concern, fairness, and appreciation rather than hinders.
- Do not engage in conduct related to SLAFB that may compromise or call into question the integrity or mission of SLAFB.
- Resolve differences, together with SLAFB, in an appropriate manner and without using offensive, abusive, or disrespectful language or actions.
- Display courtesy and respect towards all SLAFB staff and fellow Partners in words and actions.
Any Partner Agency found to be doing any of the above may be subject to the Termination of the partnership with the St. Louis Area Foodbank.
Vehicle Loading Policy
- Foodbank Team members are not required to assist in loading orders into a vehicle.
- If a Foodbank team member requests assistance loading an order into a vehicle, the agency representative assumes responsibility for any damage that may be caused by the team member loading the agency’s vehicle.
- The Foodbank Will Not load pallets onto utility trailers (open or enclosed).
- The Foodbank Associates will place a pallet on the dock next to the trailer.
- The agency representatives will be responsible for loading or stacking the product onto the trailer.
- The Foodbank Will Not push more than one pallet onto a truck’s tail.
- It is recommended that any agency using a truck that is not dock high bring a pallet jack to position pallets inside the vehicle to accommodate additional pallets being loaded.
- If an Agency is picking up an order in a dock-high box truck, they will be directed to the back of the building, where a warehouse associate will load their vehicle.
-
- Upon parking your vehicle in the dock, it is the agency driver’s responsibility to chock the wheels for safe loading of the vehicle.
- Again, the Foodbank is not responsible for damage to an agency vehicle. However, when loading at the warehouse dock, the Foodbank team members will operate their equipment safely and professionally.
- Upon parking your vehicle in the dock, it is the agency driver’s responsibility to chock the wheels for safe loading of the vehicle.

Failure to Pick Up Orders
- The St. Louis Area Foodbank requires that all agencies pick up their orders on their scheduled date and time.
- If the orders are not picked up within one full business day, they will be canceled and returned to stock. The agency will be charged a $25 restocking fee.
- A $25 fee will also be charged to agencies who want to cancel an online order after the window for editing has closed.
- Consistent negligence of orders and failure to pick up orders on the scheduled date and time can lead to suspending an agency’s ability to place orders with the St. Louis Area Foodbank.
- If you have any questions about the restocking fee, don’t hesitate to contact your Partner Relationship Coordinator.
- Please note that in an emergency or if an appointment needs to be rescheduled, the agency must contact Susan Jenkins at 314.382.3663 or Customerservice@Stlfoodbank.org as soon as possible to arrange a new time and date.
Order Discrepancies and Question Regarding Product Condition
- Any issue related to your order, paperwork, or product received Must be brought to the Customer Service Rep at the front desk.
- The Customer Service Rep will call for a supervisor or manager to go to the lobby and/or dock, and they will address the agency representatives’ concerns.
- Do Not ask the Foodbank team member working on the dock to pull additional products, exchange products, or change paperwork.
Please direct any questions related to the above policies to your Partner Relationship Coordinator.
