How to Give and Get Help during the COVID-19 crisis
The St. Louis Area Foodbank, along with Feeding America, is carefully monitoring developments regarding the spread of COVID-19. Our understanding of the coronavirus pandemic is changing hourly. What is certain, however, is that children, working adults, and seniors across the region will be affected. Many of our neighbors who never thought they might need assistance will turn to the St. Louis Area Foodbank and our partner agency network.
As always, the St. Louis Area Foodbank is committed to ensuring our most vulnerable neighbors have access to nutritious food during this challenging time.
The St. Louis Area Foodbank continues to work with local, state and national officials to develop and implement plans to safely distribute food to individuals and families in need. Learn more about our COVID-19 Response Efforts.
Our goal is to distribute 10 million meals to local children, families, seniors and other impacted individuals in the bi-state region by the end of June.
If you or someone you know is in need of food assistance, please visit our Find Food map to locate food resources near you. You can also contact us at 314-292-6262 for more information. *During this outbreak, pantry hours of operation are subject to change. We encourage you to contact the pantry directly before driving to their facility.
If you or someone you know has a vehicle, you can visit one of our Emergency Mobile Food Distributions. Dates, times, and locations can be found on our events calendar. These events are set up to be drive-through food distributions. Volunteers and staff will put food in your car. We ask that you have space in your vehicle for the food items and that you not leave your vehicle during the distribution.
If you need help applying for SNAP (formerly known as Food Stamps), please contact Melissa Melton at 314-528-8622 to do the application over the phone. We assist people with both Illinois and Missouri applications.
If you are a community partner (school, food pantry, or other community organization) or know someone who is in need of food assistance, please contact Mary Cooper at firstname.lastname@example.org or (314) 292-6262 to learn how we might be able to increase food access in your community.
As we look to shift our inventory and meet the ever-changing need, financial support is what we need most. Your support allows us to make purchases in bulk, and shift our operation as needed in the coming days, weeks, and months.
As families are preparing themselves and stocking up, please consider picking up a few extra items to donate to local families. You can donate non-perishable food items at our facility from Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Virtual Food Drive:
You can also hold a Virtual Food Drive while practicing social distancing.
If you are healthy and want to volunteer, you can lend a helping hand in our volunteer center or at a mobile distribution event.
