PROGRAMS:

	Food Solicitation - donations from local and national food industry sources, including manufacturers, suppliers, food brokers and grocery stores.
	Food Purchases - made by the St. Louis Area Foodbank through the generosity of private donations and grants.
	United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) - food distributed through The Emergency Food Assistance Program and Soup Kitchen Commodities from the federal government.
	Food Drive - sponsored by individuals, companies and other organizations.
	CSFP - The USDA’s Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) provides women, children under six years of age and seniors citizens with nutritious food. In partnership with the St. Louis Area Foodbank, the Missouri Department of Health will serve nearly 5,000 people in St. Louis City and County and 1,500 in southern Missouri.
	Transitional Housing - helping families move from shelters into permanent homes.

the elderly, single-parent families and the working poor. Children comprise the largest segment of the population in need of food. Hunger does not discriminate. It affects poor and homeless people in urban and rural areas.
