Epworth Children &
Family Services

Where they are:   This agency's main campus is located at 110 N. Elm, Webster Groves, 63119.   Epworth also operates an emergency crisis shelter, Youth Emergency Service (YES) at 6816 Washington Avenue, University City, 63130.
What they do:   Epworth provides essential youth development services to help children overcome severe emotional and behavioral challenges through residential treatment, intensive 24-hour treatment, and the Epworth School.  YES provides crisis care for young people who need an immediate, safe place to live.  Epworth's Independent Living Program provides a smooth transition period between foster care or residential treatment to independent community living for teens ages 17-21 who are without parental support.   Epworth's Family Focus program works to strengthen families and reduce long-term residential care.
Who they serve:   Epworth serves youth, ages 11 to 21.  More than 500 youth and families turn to Epworth for emergency shelter, residential treatment, or educational day treatment services each year.
What they get from the Foodbank:  All of the cereal Epworth requires, which would be a huge expense since they feed nearly 150 teenagers breakfast each day.  They also get most of their laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and even make-up for the girls, which is very important to building self-esteem.  Epworth also obtains snack foods.
When you contribute to the St. Louis Area Foodbank, you help our member agencies - like Epworth Children & Family Services - continue providing important assistance to your neighbors and your community.
THE ST. LOUIS AREA FOODBANK IS A NON-PROFIT, FOOD DISTRIBUTION CENTER FOR ORGANIZATIONS THAT FEED HUNGRY PEOPLE THROUGHOUT 14 COUNTIES IN EASTERN MISSOURI AND 12 COUNTIES IN SOUTHWESTERN ILLINOIS.

2002 Epworth Community Partner Award:
"The St. Louis Area Foodbank is a local non-profit food distribution center for organizations.  This year alone they have supplied Epworth with over 30,000 pounds of supplies, including breakfast cereals, snack foods, cleaning supplies and beauty products.   The resources they provide are invaluable and their professionalism, resourcefulness, and willingness to work so closely with us is very appreciated."
