We package more than 12,800 boxes of food that provide low-income seniors with the nutrition they need.
Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) boxes contain nutrient-rich foods provided by the United States Department of Agriculture. These foods provide vitamins A and C, calcium and iron, essential nutrients that are often lacking in the diets of low-income seniors.
The boxes are delivered to local agencies or senior citizen housing where seniors who meet income guidelines can pick them up each month.
This program prevents many area seniors from having to choose between paying for food or other necessities, such as medicine or utilities.
